Striae are caused mainly when a person gains weight and the skin grows rapidly. Stretch marks on breasts is an extremely common occurrence in pregnant women. Overstretching may lead to stretch marks, even though our skin happens to be very elastic. It happens during pregnancy and usually at the time of puberty when girls and boys go through there rapid growth changes. This problem, in many areas of our body like the bikini area, stomach, thighs, hands, breasts, hips, legs, and even buttocks is caused by the affected production of collagen.
The stretching actually happens from the inside, even though stretch marks appear to be normal from the outside. The bottom layer of the skin that provides strength and elasticity may become uneven and thinner. Blood vessels can be easily seen since our skin is very transparent, which is also why striae can be seen. These unattractive marks cause men to suffer, too. Theirs usually disappear after a period of time but that all depends on the marks they have.
During the second half of pregnancy is when these marks start to develop in pregnant women on the abdomen and breasts. Just as the baby starts growing, your skin starts stretching to accommodate the baby which develops comparatively into stretch marks on the skin. Skin color can sometimes play a part, too. The mark may begin as a pink, reddish, brown, or dark brown color according to your skin color. The reddish, even purplish marks eventually fade to shiny silver lines. Your skin gets stretched a lot, basically near the abdomen and breasts during pregnancy, which is caused partially due to hormonal changes.
Some woman may take a long time to heal while other women with weaker collagen tend to get more of these marks. According to research, woman who have stretch marks suffer from frail pelvic floor ligaments. By doing pelvic floor exercises, this can be corrected to avoid any incontinence of urine. Due to their rapid growth, like a pregnant woman, bodybuilders get striae, too.
Here's some remedies you can try:
1. Apply collagen creams, even though its benefits are still unclear. Always be sure to check with your doctor before applying any lotions.
2. Cocoa butter is also said to do great things with your skin as it softens scars.
3. Applying olive oil and Vitamin E oil can also help to get rid of stretch marks.
4. Mix 1/2 cup virgin oil, 1/4 cup aloe Vera gel including liquid of 6 Vitamin E capsules and liquid from 4 Vitamin A capsules, mix them all together and store it in the fridge to be applied daily.
5. Having a healthy diet with the right foods like plenty of protein and rich in Vitamin C and Vitamin E, will also help in the growth of tissue.
6. A mixture of any carrier oils like avocado, sweet almond, jojoba mixed with drops of lavender and few drops of chamomile will do wonders for your skin. Rubbing down your body with most of these oils will tone your body, making it more soft and smooth.
7. There is also laser treatment which can make you sore. The creams will do great and are far less expensive then the laser treatment.
